In the 1990 s, domestic color paste manufacturers came into being. At the beginning, there were one or two manufacturers specializing in color paste. In fact, in foreign countries, there were specialized color paste manufacturers in the 1960 s, such as Colaine, Degusa, Hibis, etc, at that time, some domestic paint manufacturers with strong quality awareness began to buy color paste from abroad, but the price was relatively high, such as iron oxide series color paste. At that time, the price was even as high as 100 yuan per kilogram. Later, domestic color paste manufacturers rose and the price dropped relatively, from more than 30 yuan per kilogram to more than 10 yuan per kilogram now. On the one hand, the improvement of technology and equipment, the cost is within the controllable range; on the other hand, the competition is becoming more and more fierce, and some manufacturers have reduced their profits.
In spite of this, the quality of color paste products has improved a lot compared with the beginning, and the varieties have also been improved. There are also one or two color paste manufacturers at the beginning, and now there are 20 or 30, mainly distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Guangdong and other places.
